Scales
Scale is an important concept inside RealFlow. One reason for scale changes is that different 3D programs work with different scales. In order to compensate for these differences, the scale has to be adjusted to match your 3D environment again. Other common reasons are
- Upscaling very small geometry without changing its physical dimensions.
- Downscaling very large geometry without changing its physical dimensions.
- Improving fluid-object collision.
- Using a real-world scale or a pre-adjusted fixed scale.
These changes affect geometry. All scales can be altered here:
- "Geometry scale" is directly connected to RealFlow's viewport grid: each grid square measures 1 m x 1 m. With a geometry scale of 2.0, for example, each grid cell is 2 m x 2 m, and so on. The grid's own scale is defined under Preferences > Display > Grid > Grid size.
- “Cell size scale” works with Hybrido simulations and affects Hybrido domains and objects. Smaller cell sizes are used to change the number of particles, and improve accuracy and fluid-object collision. With several dozens of objects and multiple domains it can be a tedious task to alter all “Cell size” parameters. Instead of changing them manually, simply enter a factor. - “Daemon force scale for [...]” is used to scale all force-based daemons at once, e.g. “Attractor”, “Gravity”, “Wind”, “Noise” etc. You can differentiate between scales for fluids and objects.
