MultiJoints - Break

From the moment a link is broken, the connection stops working and you cannot observe the typical pull-back behaviour. This is the place where the breaking conditions are defined.



 

Break if max force reached

A joint will break if the force, acting on the connection, exceeds “@ Max force”. With this option enabled, it is often difficult to find a working → @ Max force” value. Better results can be achieved with “Break if distance exceeded”.

Break all in pair if few unbroken

It is advised to enable this option if you can see constraint effects between nodes which should be completely separated. An example: Some bricks of a wall stick together, because not all joints are broken. Those hinged bricks can be separated with this option. The broken joints limit is defined under “@ Unbroken number to break all”

If the number of broken joints is reached by a particular pair of linked bodies, all remaining connections between them will be broken. Other links in the MultiJoint will not be affected.

Break if distance exceeded

This is the most effective and reliable method for your work with force limits and breaking joints. With the associated “@ Break distance” you can define a distance at which a joint will break.

If the given distance between tow joints is exceeded, the connection is broken. This value is given metres.

@ Break distance random

The actual value will be between 0 and the given positive value. This value is given in metres and the total distance is calculated this way: Total distance = @ Break distance + @ Break distance random
