Maxwell Render

Fixes

  • Crash rendering with spot/IES emitters in OSX.

  • Random procedural textures had symmetry on tiling.

Improvements

  • Random procedural textures are faster

Known Issues

  • Wrong data issues with TIFF images and LZW compression in Linux platforms (including Maxwell Cloud nodes).

 

Maxwell GPU

Fixes

  • Crash when consecutive renders with different resolutions are done with multi-GPU.

  • Changing materials with GPU Fire on instances can mess material assignations.

Known Issues

  • Dielectrics materials don’t behave as intended in some scenes.

  • Some channels (alpha, material, object, position, z-buffer) may show artifacts.

 

Maxwell Studio

Changes

  • Mathematical expressions in numeric fields disabled in OSX (related to Crash on UI numeric fields in OSX).

Fixes

  • Crash on UI numeric fields in OSX (this caused crashes when minimizing some panels and in other situations).

  • Downloading gallery materials to a blank scene with default settings did not work.

Improvements

  • When you open a .mxs file in Studio, it warned about not finding any texture or referenced material, but not if it didn´t find a referenced .mxs file, now it will.

 

Material Editor (standalone)

Changes

  • Mathematical expressions in numeric fields disabled in OSX (related to Crash on UI numeric fields in OSX).

Fixes

  • Crash on UI numeric fields in OSX.

 

Maxwell Network

Changes

  • Now, when stopping cloud renders, it warns the user about renders that haven’t started yet, instead of renders that haven’t produced images yet, as it generates the final image after stopping the render.

Fixes

  • Monitor could not download Maxwell Cloud results with the “#” character in the file names.

 

Python Editor

Fixes

  • Pymaxwell python module help didn’t work until the pymaxwell module is loaded by script.

 

SDK

Fixes

  • Python. pymaxwell5 function “runMaxwell” ran Maxwell 4 (if installed).
