Notations and Abbreviations

It is necessary to introduce a few notations making it easier for you to follow this manual. The abbreviations are actually very common and most likely they are known from other applications, but for the sake of completeness they are provided here.

Commands and Menus

A sequence of commands is always separated by an angle bracket “>”, for example:

Menu Bar > Edit > Add > Grid fluid > Domain

Selected object > Node Params > Fluid > Density

Keys and Shortcuts

It is often necessary to use certain combinations of keys to activate a function or switch to a particular mode. Sometimes they are combined with mouse buttons:

Rotate viewport: Alt + LMB 

Press the Alt key on your keyboard, hold it and drag the mouse while holding the left mouse button.”

Switch to flat shaded mode: 3

Simply press the 3 key on your keyboard. A mouse action is not required here.”
