SE - Scene Objects Column

This area contains all of the scene's polygonal or parametric objects. To choose the nodes you want to export, simply select them with the mouse. Multi-selection is possible with the Ctrl key.

Objects

Here, the scene's objects are listed. It is a read-only field. Once an object has been shifted to the “Exported Objects” column it will be removed from here.

Add with [matrix | vertex]

The entries of the drop-down menu are only relevant in conjunction with animated objects. Between both modes there is a significant difference:

“Matrix” is applied to all static nodes and objects with animation keys. This mode will only record global parametrical changes such as position, rotation, or scale. Changes in a body's topology are not considered.

Vertex”, on the other hand, is required for objects with PLA information. A typical example is cloth. Here, the position data of each individual vertex is recorded on a local level to store the object's deformation. Soft bodies represent a different situation, where the “Vertex” mode is required.

Simply select the desired mode, and all highlighted objects will be shifted to “Exported Objects” with the “Vertex” option enabled. If an object contains both animation keys and PLA then “Vertex” is also the correct choice.

Objects with deformers applied have to be translated into an editable object before they can be exported with Mesh > Conversion > Current State to Object.
