MI - Quick Start
To load a mesh file sequence, add a plugin:
Plugins > RealFlow > RealFlow Mesh Importer
By default, the plugin is nothing more than an empty container which can be repositioned and rotated, but not scaled. All position and rotation changes will also be transferred to the imported mesh. To scale the mesh, the plugin provides a dedicated parameter (Setup > Scale). In Cinema 4D's “Attributes Manager” you will find everything you need to load and configure the mesh. The basic workflow requires just a few steps:
Go to Setup > File Path and click on the “...” button to locate the mesh file sequence.
Scrub the timeline to flip through the meshes.
Apply a shader, e.g. water, and render the image.
If you have loaded a BIN file sequence you will discover that the plugin object carries three vertex map tags, named “RF_Mesh_Speed[XYZ]”. These tags contain the mesh's velocity information split in the speed vector's spatial directions. With a MD sequence you might see even more tags depending on the exported channels. In the “How to...?” section you will learn how to work with these tags, connect them to materials, and influence their opacity.
The remaining panels and parameters are explained separately in the following chapters.
