PE - Setup

This panel is the place to adjust everything you need to write the file sequence.

Particle System

By default, you will see an entry name “All (tp)”, but this is a dynamic drop-down menu and its content depends on a scene's emitters. Since BIN and RPC sequences, imported with the “RealFlow Particle Importer” are treated as Thinking Particles in Cinema 4D, they will appear in this menu as well. You will also see an emitter's particle type in brackets:

  • (tp) indicates a Thinking Particles emitter

  • (emitter) represents a standard particle system emitter

With “All (tp)”, the particles from all of the scene's emitters will be exported together in a single BIN (one file per frame).

Format

There are differences between the BIN file formats from RealFlow 2012 and RealFlow 2013 or higher: RealFlow' 2012 files can be imported to higher versions, but not vice versa.

Directory

Here, the folder, where the BIN files will be stored, is specified.

When you click on this button a file browser will be opened, where you can point to a folder.

Name

This is the place where you can enter a name for the particle files. The name is used as a prefix, followed by a number, and a “.bin” extension. The number's format is defined with the “Padding” parameter.

Padding

The BIN files contain a consecutive number, and the padding specifies the number of leading 0. We recommend using the five-digit format, because it is also used by RealFlow.

Start Frame/End Frame

The export can be restricted to a user-defined range. Start and end of this range are entered here.

Inc Frame

This is the so-called increment. With 1, every frame will be exported, with 2 every second frame, and so on.

Export/Cancel

To start the export, click on the same-named button. If you want to close the window choose “Cancel”.
