... Release Particles in RealFlow?

The “Binary Loader” provides an option to release the particles at a certain frame. From that moment, the particles will be controlled by RealFlow's SPH fluid solver. To do this, go to

Binary Loader node > Node Params > Binary Loader > Release particles

There you will find a value of “-1”. This means that the entire sequence will be loaded. Entering a different positive value specifies the moment, when the particles will be controlled by the fluid solver. Then the particles are also influenced by daemons. Additionally, the remaining files will be ignored and not imported.

If you observe exploding particles then the particles' radius values are too big. In RealFlow, the radius is controlled via an emitter's “Resolution” value, but with an imported sequence it is read from the cache files and cannot be changed. Therefore, you have to go back to Cinema 4D and re-export the sequence with a smaller “Radius” value. If the plugin's “Fluid Type” has been set to “Dumb” the “Radius” value does not play any role.

The “Binary Loader” writes BIN files when you hit “Simulate”. This happens regardless of whether the particles are released or just read.
