RW - Spectrum Deformer
To add this wave deformer, right-click on the "Realwave01" entry in the "Nodes" panel and choose Add Wave > Spectrum.
"Spectrum" lets you create waves within a given range of frequencies.
Active
With “No” the deformer can be disabled temporarily.
Weight
To reduce the influence of a deformer, decrease its weight. Valid settings are between 0.0 (inactive) and 1.0 (full influence).
Shape
You can choose from three different types:
- “Sinusoidal” uses standard sine functions in horizontal directions to create a regular pattern. This is most useful for an underlying base wave in combination with other deformers.
- “Asymmetric” generates a surface without regular structures and provides waves of varied heights and widths.
- “Sharp” produces fast moving waves with sharp crests.
Min. frec.
This is this minimum frequency of the waves. There should be at least a difference of 0.1 between “Min. frec.” and “Max. frec.” to achieve reasonable results.
Max. frec.
This is this maximum frequency of the waves. There should be at least a difference of 0.1 between “Min. frec.” and “Max. frec.” to achieve reasonable results. If you observe regular patterns decrease this value.
Samples
This is the number of waves that will be generated from the given frequency range:
- To achieve wider gaps between the wave crests, reduce “Samples”
- For more waves, increase the value.
V scale
Adjust the vertical height of the waves with this parameter. The value is measured in metres.
Angle
Here the waves’ motion direction is adjusted in degrees.
