To add this wave deformer, right-click on the "Realwave01" entry in the "Nodes" panel and choose Add Wave > Fractal.

“Fractal” provides a typical noisy surface with bumps and dents, and an underlying base oscillation of the entire surface.

Active

With “No” the deformer can be disabled temporarily.

Weight

To reduce the influence of a deformer, decrease its weight. Valid settings are between 0.0 (inactive) and 1.0 (full influence).

Height

This parameter determines the maximum height of the entire surface, while the height of the smaller ripples are controlled with “Slope”. The value is given in metres.

Angle

Here the waves’ motion direction is adjusted in degrees.

Octaves

Increase this value to get more surface structures. With values above 7 you will hardly notice any change of the surface’s structure.

Slope

Control the height of the surface structures created with “Octaves”.

Fractal speed

This is the waves' speed given in metres per second.

Fractal scale X

You can stretch the waves in X direction. All positive and negative values are accepted. The entered value acts as a factor.

Fractal scale Y

You can stretch the waves in Y or Z direction – this depends on your → axis setup. All positive and negative values are accepted. The entered value acts as a factor.

Seed

By changing this value you are able to change waves' initial distribution. All positive and negative integers are accepted.
