Selected Shelf Commands Area

When an entry of the “Shelves” (the left canvas) is selected then you will see the associated commands here and it is possible to edit them. Inside this area you can change the order of the commands with simple drag and drop actions: just select a command, keep the mouse pressed, and shift the entry to a new position. Then release the mouse. The commands list supports multi-selections.

Add separator

With the button it is possible to add (vertical) separators to subdivide the shelf's entries into groups. Once a separator has been created it can also be repositioned with drag and drop.

Remove selected

This button is only active when at least one command is selected. It is used to remove commands and separators from the list. The action has to be confirmed.

Add new command

RealFlow's shelves are not fixed and you can change them according to your needs easily. If you want to attach a command please choose one of the entries of the “Add new command” submenu. In the appearing panel you can load graphs or scripts, assign an icon, a name, and other information. Please follow the links below for a detailed description about how to work with the “Add Command” dialogue:

  • Add new graph

  • Add new graph from file

  • Add new Python script

  • Add new Python script from file

A brief tutorial how to add a command can be found here:

Right-Click Menu “Command”

You can access this menu by right-clicking on a command:

Edit command

Commands can be edited and changed to your needs. For this purpose, a dedicated editor is available that will appear when you choose this entry. Editing functions for built-in commands are limited, but custom graphs, scripts, and C++ plugins are fully customizable. Since the “Command Editors” are powerful tools they are explained separately:

  • Edit (built-in commands)

  • Edit (graphs and Python scripts)

  • Edit (C++ plugins)

A command's associated editor can also be opened with a double-click on a command.

Insert separator above

Instead of using the “Add separator” button, a new separator can also be created with this function. The new line will be inserted above the currently selected command.

Remove command from shelf

To delete a command, choose this entry and confirm your action.
