Shelves Area

This area contains a list with all shelves – both hidden and floating shelves are displayed here. The checkbox indicates a shelf's current state:

• Visible = Checked

• Hidden = Unchecked

• Floating = Checked with a light grey background

“Add new shelf” Button

A click on this button opens a new panel where you specify the new shelf's properties:

Shelf Name

Enter the shelf's name here, but please make sure that it is unique and does not contain any special characters – use plain English.

Shelf Icon

A click on the “Edit Icon” button opens another dialogue where you can either choose a symbol from RealFlow's icon gallery or load your own image. The “Icon Editor's” functions are explained separately below.

Shelf Visibility

By default, the new shelf will be visible, but it can also be hidden or created as a floating window that can be placed anywhere on your screen.

Preview

Here you will see how the shelf's tab will look.

OK/Cancel

Confirm your settings with “OK” or abort the process with the “Cancel” button.

“Add new Shelf” Context Menu

When you take a look at the “Add new shelf” button you will detect a small triangle. Click on it to open a submenu:

This entry has exactly the same functionality as the same-named main button.

Add built-in shelf

Here you can choose from RealFlow's default shelves and add another instance of the selected shelf. This can be interesting if you want to modify a system shelf and your own commands, but keep the original version as well. Another occasion where you need this function is when you have deleted a system shelf and want to bring it back to the user interface.

“Remove selected” Button

This button simply deletes a shelf. Built-in shelf can be restored with “Add built-in shelf”; custom shelves will be lost. You have to confirm this action.

Icon Editor

This is the “Icon Editor's” layout:

Under “From Gallery” it is possible to choose a symbol from RealFlow's icon repository. Simply click on “Browse icon gallery...” to get there. In the “Preview” area you will see the selected icon. Adjust its size with the “Resolution” slider. Most icons are stored in SVG format and can be magnified without any loss of quality.

“From File” let's you choose a PNG, JPG, BMP or SVG file from your hard disk with the “...” button. The chosen image will be shown in the “File location” field. If you want to keep the icon as an external reference, check the appropriate storage method. If you want to embed the image into RealFlow, choose this option.

The “Preview” function works as described above. Please bear in mind that upscaled pixel-based image formats will look jaggy.

Right-Click Menu “Shelf”

This small menu contains three topics and is available when you right-click on a shelf's name directly:

Edit shelf

This entry lets you change the shelf’s name, visibility, and icon. The functionality and mode of operation is exactly the same as described under “Add new shelf Button” above.

Duplicate shelf

Adds a 1:1 copy of the currently selected shelf.

Remove selected shelves

Delete a shelf. This action has to be confirmed.

Right-Click Menu “Add”

If you click on an empty space somewhere in the “Shelves” area you will see this menu:

The entries of this menu have the same functionality as their same-named button counterparts.
