SI - RealWave Import

If you want to work with RealWave files you have to start in RealFlow. After a RealWave node has been added, go to

Export > Export Central

There you will find the “REALWAVE” branch. Open it and check “Surface deformation (.sd)”. You can deactivate the “Surface cache (.rwc)” resource, because it is only used by RealFlow internally, slows down the simulation, and the SD format can serve as a cache format as well. The RealWave's associated SD will be stored in the project's “objects” folder. The default name is “Realwave01.sd”.

In Cinema 4D you just add a “RealFlow SD Importer” plugin, and load the file via the “Object(s)” field. Now, the surface appears in Cinema 4D's viewport. Scrub the timeline to see the waves' motions.

You will find exactly the same options and parameters as for “normal” objects. The “Create Motion Keys” button should not be used, because the result is just a flat plane: RealWave surfaces are displaced on a vertex level.
