You should enable RealFlow's backup mechanism in any case:

  • The difference between the file types is that XML is (normally) smaller and therefore saved faster. 

  • FLW files can be opened directly, while XML files need an import process via Import > Nodes from XML... 

  • We recommend at least 2 back files ("Number of Files").
