SketchUp Licensing
The Standalone and Render Suite plugins use different licensing models, which are described below.
SA
The Standalone plugin operates in one of two modes:
License | Draft Mode | Production Mode | Maximum Resolution |
---|---|---|---|
Free | 800 pixels | ||
Commercial | 1920 pixels |
When initially installed, the Standalone plugin uses the Free license. After purchase of a Commercial license, an email will be sent, which contains a license key. To activate the Commercial license on your machine, follow these simple steps:
1. Start the License Validator
In SketchUp's main menu, go to Plugins > Maxwell and click License Validator:
The License Validator item only appears when the plugin has not already been licensed.
2. Enter your information
Enter your email address, password, and license key, then click the Validate button:
3.1 Success
If license validation is successful, you should see a window similar to this:
Checking the plugin's About box, you should see that the license type is now reported as Commercial:
If the Maxwell Fire window was open during this process, it will be necessary to close and re-open it, since it needs to re-build its UI to enable Commercial-license rendering capabilities.
3.2 Failure
In the event of validation failure, you should see a window similar to this:
As instructed, please visit the support site to rectify the situation.
RS
The Render Suite plugin also runs in one of two modes:
License | Draft Mode | Production Mode | Maximum Resolution |
---|---|---|---|
Demo | 800 pixels | ||
Commercial | 1920 pixels |
The Commercial license mode is enabled automatically when a valid Maxwell Render Suite license is found on the machine. For information on how to license Maxwell Render Suite, see the Licensing page in the Maxwell render documentation.
