Houdini
Introduction
SideFX Houdini is a procedural node based professional 3D animation and visual effects tools for film, broadcast, entertainment and visualization productions.
The Maxwell Render for Houdini plug-in provides a close integration between Maxwell Render and SideFX Houdini for Windows 32/64-bit, Mac OSX and Linux 64-bit platforms.The plug-in makes it possible to set Maxwell Render specific parameters within Houdini and exports complex scenes to Maxwell Render.Â
This documentation describes the parameters and interfaces of the plug-in components.
Limitations
The current version of the plug-in exports polygon objects only, objects which contains curves are skipped. The Maxwell Render ROP node gives a warning message if it detects non-polygonal faces.
Render hooks do not work properly in Houdini 12, so the sky preview is not visible in the viewport.
