... Change Display Properties?

The plugin has its own “Display” panel in Cinema 4D's “Attributes Manager”. To get rid of the standard Thinking Particles look simply choose another “Display Mode”. This action will unlock a couple of settings to adjust colours based on the fluid's properties. Please take a look at the parameter descriptions here in the manual for more information about how they influence the viewport representation.

Simulation with "Display Mode" set to "Thinking Particles", "Particles", and "Circles". The colors represent the particles' velocities.

It is also possible to dye the particles in “TP View Type” mode with the help of Cinema 4D's “Thinking Particles Settings”. Please check out this page to learn how to do that.
