... Apply Particle Motion Blur?

RealFlow's particles contain velocity information and this channel can be used for motion blur effects. Anyway, vector-based motion blur and Cinema 4D's “Motion Blur” tags are not supported and...

  • Activate “Sub-Frame Motion Blur” in the “Render Settings” dialogue.

  • Adjust the number of “Samples”.

  • Go to the plugin's "Setup" panel to change the effect's strength with the "Blur Length" parameter.
  • Optional: Add a “Camera” object. Under “Physical” you can adjust the camera's “Shutter Speed (s)” value to control the effect's strength.

The “Samples” parameter tells you how many images will be rendered per frame to blur the particles: with a value of 9 and a simulation range of 100 frames, Cinema 4D will render a total of 900 images. The final render time also depends on the number of particles, and with hundreds of thousands, or millions of particles, the render process can take very long.

Particles with 16 samples and a "Blur Length" value of 3.
