WetDry Maps With Hybrido
By default, Hybrido core fluid particles are not able to create wet-dry maps. RealFlow comes with a graph to establish this kind of interaction at simulation time, but what if you are not so tech-savvy? If you are a user of a RealFlow version with our innovative Dyverso solver then there is good news:
Dyverso allows you to create, control, and export wet-dry maps from Hybrido simulations in a post process.

Scene Preparation
Create a scene with a few objects, a “Gravity” daemon, and a Hybrido domain plus emitter. It is important that the objects have proper UVs!
The main requirement is that your Hybrido domain exports RPC files:
- Go to “Export Central”, or even easier, to the Hybrido domain’s “Export” tab, and check if “Particles cache (.rpc)” is enabled.
- Remember the name of the Hybrido domain node – normally, this is “HY_Domain01”.
Now simulate the scene including all fluid-object interactions. Bear in mind that MultiBodies do not support wet-dry maps, so always use individual objects.
The Dyverso Scene
Is the Hybrido simulation ready? Great! So let’s go ahead with a new project. All you have to do is to add a Dyverso domain and import the objects:
- Activate Node Params > Texture > WetDry texture for all objects
- The objects must turn black. If not, go to Node Params > Display > Texture > WetDry.
- Adjust the associated parameters (“Resolution”, “Ageing”, etc.).
- Open the “Export” tab and enable “Wetmap texture (*)” for all objects, choose a file format.
Activate the objects' wet-dry map features.
In the next step, the Hybrido RPC files will be connected to the Dyverso domain:
- Dyverso domain > Node Params > Export > (.rpc) path
- Rename the Dyverso domain to the Hybrido domain’s name (“HY_Domain01” by default).
- Click on the icon and go to the folder with the Hybrido RPC files.
Press Alt + U to update the cache and scrub the timeline – the files are now available:
The last action is very important, because we want to prevent the original Hybrido files from being overwritten:
Set the Dyverso domain’s simulation state to “Cache” (yellow rocket icon).
Reset and simulate. If you
- are not happy with the results simply change the parameters, and start a new simulation
- should see a pale grey texture without patterns then your UVs are most probably wrong.
