ME - User Interface
The plugin consists of a single panel where all parameters and features are located.
Mesh
Here, the object to be exported is chosen. All relevant nodes will be displayed in the drop-down menu.
Directory
To specify the mesh files' storage location, either enter a path in the empty field, or point to a particular folder with the “...” button. If possible, use the associated RealFlow project's “mesh” folder, because from there the files can be assigned to a mesh node easily.
…
This button opens a file browser making it easier to choose a directory where the BINs will be stored.
Name
You can use the name suggested here or enter any other valid name. A valid name consists of these characters: A-Z, a-z, 0-9, the hyphen, and the underscore.
Padding
With this slider it is possible to specify the file name's number of leading zeros. The appropriate number will be added as a suffix, e.g. “Cloth_00001.bin”, while “00001” represents a 5-digit padding. We recommend keeping the default value, because it is RealFlow's standard padding.
Start Frame/End Frame
You can export the entire frame range or just a given segment with these values.
Inc Frame
A value of 1 indicates that every frame will be written; with 2 only every second frame, and so on.
Export Texture
If the base object contains UV coordinates then they will be added to the mesh with this option.
Export Velocity
This feature adds velocity information of the mesh's vertices. By default, the plugin evaluates existing vertex maps. There must be three separate maps named as
RF_Mesh_SpeedX
RF_Mesh_SpeedY
RF_Mesh_SpeedZ
If the object does not contain any velocity information please activate “Recalculate” to get the required data from the object's change in position.
Recalculate
In order to add an “artificial” velocity from the object's motion the plugin tries to evaluate the position changes of its vertices. Unfortunately, this is not always possible for every vertex, and that is why this function may produce improper results.
Export/Cancel
With “Export” the mesh files are written to the specified directory. “Cancel” closes the UI and your settings will be lost.
