Rhino 6 - Installation

After purchasing the plugin, you will find the plugin at My Downloads section; locate Maxwell 4 section and choose Maxwell 4 | Rhinoceros (v6) from the dropdown:

Click on “Download file” button; the latest version of the installer will be downloaded to your computer.

You can also click on “Release notes” to learn about the additions, changes or fixes that happened in the current or previous versions.

Installation

First of all, please make sure Rhino 6 is not running.

The downloaded file will be an executable one; just double click on it and the installer will launch:

The installer for the plugin also includes, embedded inside, the installer for the required version of Maxwell Render that works with that version of the plugin. If you are sure you already have that exact version of Maxwell Render already installed, you can disable that part of the installation, otherwise, install all the items:

You can then click on Next and go ahead with the installation.

After the installer has finished, launch Rhino and make sure it detects the new plugin (a pop-up window will notify about it). Then it is recommended to restart Rhino once so it works properly.

Silent installation

These are the parameters that can be used for a silent installation:

/SILENT	Runs the installer in silent mode (The progress window is displayed)
/VERYSILENT	Very silent mode. No windows are displayed.
/SUPPRESSMSGBOXES	Suppress message boxes. Only has an effect when combined with '/SILENT' and '/VERYSILENT'.
/NOCANCEL	Disables cancelling the installation process.
/NORESTART	Prevents installer from restarting the system even if it's necessary.
/DIR="x:\dirname"	Overrides the default install directory.
