The “Crest Splash” emitter can be found in the → “RealWave” shelf. “Crest Splash” cannot be used as a stand-alone emitter and requires a RealWave surface. One very common approach with crest splash particles is the creation of → foam maps.

Choppiness for emission

With values greater than 0 RealFlow measures the waves' “sharpness” to create particles. The number of particles is also controlled with the emitter's → “Resolution” parameter.

Height for emission

Particles are only created when a wave's height is greater than the adjusted value in metres. The number of particles is also controlled with the emitter's → “Resolution” parameter.

Speed for emission

This value, given in metres, controls the emission based on the waves' velocities. This feature is not available with the → “Ocean Statistical Spectrum” deformer. The number of particles is also controlled with the emitter's → “Resolution” parameter.

Speed

This is a multiplier for the particles' initial velocity. The parameter accepts any positive or negative value.

Speed variation

Adding some randomness to “Speed” helps to suppress regular emission patterns.
