Editing and Modifying Cells

It is possible to stop a simulation at any time, open a node's spreadsheet and perform changes. Then, save this new state and resume the simulation. Polygon nodes, splines, and MultiJoints can also be manipulated without a previous simulation.

Here is the first method of manipulating cell entries:

  • In case of already simulated nodes, move the timeline slider to the frame of interest.
  • Double click on a cell and enter a new value.
  • Mathematic operations can be performed directly within in the cells, e.g. original value+sqrt(2) or original value*10

Another way is:

  • In case of already simulated nodes, move the timeline slider to the frame of interest.
  • Select one or more cells, rows, or columns - click using the Ctrl/Cmd or Shift key.
  • Click on the “Edit...” button.
  • A new window appears where you can set, add or multiply values.

All changes are temporary and they have to be saved with the selected node:

  • Right-click on the selected domain under "Nodes" and choose Export > Export now...
  • If you resume a simulation the new state will be used now.

Removing Entries

A click on the “Remove...” button will delete selected elements completely, not just the content of their cells. With polygon objects this button is inactive, because the number of vertices has to remain constant throughout a simulation:

  • Select one or more (horizontal) rows.
  • Click on “Remove...” and confirm your action.

In order to delete the selected entries permanently you have to save the new state:

  • Right-click on the selected domain under "Nodes" and choose Export > Export now...
  • If you resume a simulation the new state will be used now.
  • No labels
