RLM is widely spread and many applications use it for licensing:
- If there is an already running RLM server in your system then it is possible to use it for licensing RealFlow | Cinema 4D.
- Another method is to install a new RLM using a different port. This method is recommended when the existing RLM is very old or if you want to keep your licenses separated.
- To check if there is a RLM server running on your machine, open a browser and enter the following address:
localhost:5053
Using An Existing RLM
In this case, please look for the installation directory of the already installed RLM. Then, the license file and the “nextlimit.set” file must be copied to the RLM's directory. Restart.
The “nextlimit.set” file can be found in RealFlow's application folder under “rlm”
Binding RealFlow's RLM to Another Port
5053 is the RLM's default port. So, if you are using a RLM-licensed software already then port 5053 is in use. The solution is to edit your license file. There, you will find a line indicating the used port. for example
HOST localhost xxxxxxxxxxx 5053
Change “5053” to something like 5052, or 5060, but do not use 5054, because this port is occupied by the RLM's web interface.
