When a mesh contains at least two emitters RealFlow applies weight information to the BIN files. This property specifies how strong the fluids are interacting, and can be used for blending and colours to achieve mixing effects. Just take a look at the “RealFlow Mesh Importer” node in Cinema 4D and you will see at least two vertex maps – the order is important:

  • [RF_Mesh_Weight_2] and [RF_Mesh_Weight_1]

The workflow for applying these maps is very similar as described under “How to...Use Vertex Maps 2?” and you need two materials:

  • Create a material.

  • Activate the “Alpha” channel and choose Texture > Surface > Vertex Map.

  • Click on the white square and drag the [RF_Mesh_Weight_2] map tag to the empty “Vertex Map” slot.

  • Create another material and proceed as described above with [RF_Mesh_Weight_1].

  • Apply the materials to the plugin node in the vertex map tag's order (2 → 1).

  • Render the mesh.

In contrast to the “RealFlow RenderKit Mesher”, the connectivity plugin does not provide any parameters for influencing the weight maps' opacities. If you want to control the blending of the colours please use the RenderKit.

Please note that this feature requires RealFlow 2014 version 8.1.1.0179 or higher.
