Is RealFlow|Cinema 4D compatible with future versions of Cinema 4D?

Cinema 4D has a very powerful mechanism that allows plugins to work in future versions using the same binaries. Sometimes there are changes in the SDK that break this compatibility, so the best way to confirm this is to install RealFlow | Cinema 4D in the new version's "plugin" folder, and check if everything is running. Of course we will release RealFlow | Cinema 4D periodically to support the latest version of Cinema 4D.

Is RealFlow|Cinema 4D compatible with Team Render?

Yes, but you have to cache your simulation in a shared folder first to make sure that all Team Render instances have access to the cached files.

Is it possible to export my scene, and import to RealFlow standalone?

No, this is not possible at the moment.

Is it possible to import scenes from RealFlow standalone?

No, this is not possible at the moment.

Does RealFlow | Cinema 4D include Hybrido, RealWave, or the Caronte dynamics solver?

No, no, and no.

Which fluid types from RealFlow standalone are included in RealFlow|Cinema 4D?

Currently, our Dyverso solver is included. Dyverso

  • is a super fast, particle-based and GPU-powered multi-physics solver.
  • comes in 8 flavours: dump, liquid (SPH), liquid (PBD), granular, viscous, viscoelastic, rigid, and elastic.
Which file formats are supported by RealFlow | Cinema 4D?
  • Particle and mesh files are stored as a sequence of Alembic files.
  • Wet-dry maps are stored as a sequence of PNG files.
I'm a RealFlow | Cinema 4D 1.0 user. Is it possible to use my simulations in 2.0 as well?

Yes, 1.0 scenes can be used with RealFlow | Cinema 4D 2.0, but there are a few things you have to consider:

  • The RPC format for particles is no longer supported and cannot be loaded or processed. RealFlow | Cinema 4D now uses the Alembic format.
  • Mesh Alembics are still valid and can be used with version 2.
  • Initial states are no longer valid, because they are also stored in the old RPC format.
  • Simulation settings from version 1 are set to "Auto".
  • Simulations with the "Liquid - PBD" particle type will be slightly different due to new fluid parameters.
