This function lets you set any simulation frame as a new start preset. When you reset the scene the simulation will be starting from the previously defined initial state.

 

Use Initial State

Initial states can be created and activated/deactivated individually for each node. With

  • “Yes” the initial state will be used
  • “No” the initial state will be deactivated temporarily.
Make Initial State

A click on this button writes an initial state file to the project directory's “initial state” folder. Here is the workflow:

  • Simulate.
  • Stop the simulation at any time and press the “Make Initial State” button.
  • Set “Use Initial State” to “Yes”.
  • Activate the “Reset To InitialState” option next to the “Reset” button.
  • Reset the scene to load the initial state at frame 0 (or any other specified frame).
  • Simulate, using the initial state.
