After the → installation open RealFlow | Cinema 4D and the "License Activator" will pop up if RealFlow | Cinema 4D has not been licensed yet.

  • This guide is for Node Locked licenses only
  • An internet connection is required
  • Firewalls may block the license activation.

I have a license key

Choose this option if you have a license key. You can collect your license key from the customer gateway. If you do not have a login please contact us.

In the next window there are two options.

I want to activate the license on this computer now (needs internet connection)
  • Enter your email/password you use for the customer gateway, then the license key from the customer gateway.
  • If you are connecting your computer through a proxy, you may also enter that proxy here.
  • The "License Activator" will connect to our servers and validate your license, after which it will store the file under C:/<username>/Documents and Files/realflow_cinema4d/license/
  • Restart RealFlow | Cinema 4D to make sure that it is properly licensed.
I want to activate the license on another computer not connected to the internet (the computer where the activator is running still needs internet connection)
  • You must specify that computer's Host ID, also known as MAC address. To find it, launch RealFlow | Cinema 4D on that computer, and check under Script > Console for the Host ID.
  • Enter your email/password you use for the customer gateway, then the license key from the customer gateway.
  • If you are connecting your computer through a proxy, you may also enter that proxy here.
  • The "License Activator" will connect to our servers and validate your license, after which a "Save" dialogue will ask you to save a license file. Save this file anywhere on your computer as RealFlow_cinema_nodelocked.lic.
  • Move the LIC file to the computer you entered the Host ID for, and drag it to C:/<username>/Documents and Files/realflow_cinema4d/license/
  • Restart RealFlow | Cinema 4D to make sure that it is properly licensed.

I want to try the demo

  • Simply choose "Next" for all the subsequent windows that appear, and finally click "Activate". This will create a LIC file in C:/<username>/Documents and Files/realflow_cinema4d/license/
  • If you later purchase a license, make sure to first delete this demo license file before running the "License Activator".

The most common licensing error messages

  • "Connection error". Usually means the license activator and/or RealFlow | Cinema 4D is blocked by a firewall and cannot reach our servers.
  • "License could not be validated". Usually has the same cause as the above.
  • "License could not be saved". This means RealFlow | Cinema 4D does not have permissions on your computer to write the license file to disk. Start the install process again, making sure to right-click on the installer and chose "Run as Administrator".

If you still have problems, the first thing you should do is open RealFlow | Cinema 4D and look under Script > Console for any licensing errors.
