Wax and in general all the organic matters have certain amount of Subsurface Scattering, allowing certain amount of light to move inside the matter, but in random paths due the constant collisions with the particles inside the medium. 

Wax is a nice example of material with SSS and it is quite easy to create. Its procedure is pretty similar to the one explained in the Peach Juice page. 

Step 1

First think about the substance you want to create as a perfect clean dielectric material. In this case we'll use a pale yellow Transmittance color, Nd=1,33 and Roughness=0. Adjust the Attenuation Distance to get the amount of tint you want for your dielectric. In this case we used 4cm and got a clean yellow dielectric.
