Due to a change in the installer, it’s mandatory to previously uninstall any older version of the plugin for it to work. Please, do not overwrite an existing installation of the plugin. This doesn’t affect the Maxwell Render installation, only the plugin.

FIXED:
In some cases, the transform values of the exported element were wrong in multi-level groups.
Could not find the license if the license file contained non-ascii characters.
It was not possible to assign a material to the Volumetric objects.
Transformations with negative scale caused wrong item transformation values in Maxwell Studio.
Maxwell Material Assistant: drop-down types were not exported correctly.
In the case Maxwell Material editor is visible inside more than one panel, the Material preview was shown in one panel only.
Many Hair assistant preset values were wrong.
The plugin set texture channel value 1 for all the textures connected to the Color channel of any Assistant, but only the hair assistant should behave like this.
The Hair Assistant presets didn’t set the preset color textures.
The custom alpha assignment had some inconsistencies.

IMPROVED:
Added an option to activate or deactivate the Grass, Scatter or Subdivision extensions per node. You will find a new dropdown at the top part of their parameters panel.
Now the Maya’s File Path Editor tool also takes into account referenced mxs and mxm files so the user can now repath some or all of them to a different folder (this doesn't affect the paths of the textures or referenced inside those mxm or mxs files). This was already working for the textures used in the scene.
The exporter to Studio only exported what was selected; now, if there are objects selected, only the selected objects will be exported and, if there is nothing selected, everything will be exported.
When exporting to Studio, no camera was included; now, if there are objects selected, only the selected cameras will be exported and, if nothing is selected, all of them will be exported; in both cases, the active camera will be exported. When launching a render, only the active camera is sent.
Export to Studio, Pack and Go, File > Export and File > Export Selection now is exporting the group hierarchy to the mxs file. The mxs file generated when rendering will still be flat (so it exports the smallest file possible).
Export to Studio, Pack and Go, File > Export and File > Export Selection now is exporting the hidden geometry and their materials.
When exporting to Studio now the environment settings are also exported.
If no path was specified for storing the mxs file, the export to Studio, Network or Maxwell Cloud commands failed; now an untitled.mxs will be saved in one of these folders depending on the operating system:
Windows: C:\Users\<username>Documents\maya\projects\default\scenes\maxwell\
MacOS: ~/Documents/maya/projects/default/scenes/maxwell/
The viewport preview of the sky was projected onto a too-small sphere so when the camera clips were active the preview of the sky could disappear. Now the sphere is bigger and will work better in most of the scenes.
The naming and icons of the Maxwell nodes now are more specific; these have been improved: Grass, Scatter, Maxwell Reference, Sea, Sky Preview, Bin Object, RFRK Object and RFRK Particles.
FIXED:
The “Update from File” button in a referenced material made the corresponding faces disappear in Fire.
Fire was not stopped when a normal render was launched.
The Pack and Go tool was not exporting the .mxs file or the Maya scene file in the selected location.
The plugin could generate Maxwell materials with the texture slot active but without a texture inside; this could make the GPU engine fail.
Maxwell Sea was not exported when using the export selection method.
Maxwell Scatter typo: Length Map should say Scale Map
Fixed obsolete code.
KNOWN ISSUES:
On Mac, mxs references, proxies and extensions (grass, scatter, sea,...) may not display correctly in the viewport and may produce some instability.

In the case of MXS references, we added new object ID options, so you can choose between Container (it will show the one of the MXS reference itself, so it will be one single color), Content (it will show the object ID of the individual objects inside the reference, so it will show several colors) or Recolor (this will generate new random colors for the objects inside the reference which will be persistent between renders).
Reorganized assistant materials’ options and default values so they match the ones in MXED; also added some missing texture chips and fixed some problems using textures.
Added Hair assistant material.
Added an alternative custom saving folder for the Online Gallery downloads in Preferences.
Fixes:
Launching a region render crashed Maya when the image was returned to the image frame buffer.
When using “Export selected” from File menu with Pack and Go, all the materials of the scene and related files were exported, instead of only the ones related to the selected objects.
The plugin was ignoring Maya lights and MXS references when exporting under certain circumstances.
Maya crashed if the plugin could not find the right version of Maxwell. It now informs of the problem and disables the plugin.
MXS references were not displaying correctly in the viewport in the case of grouped geometry that had transformations applied to the group (although they rendered fine).
Some of the fields were showing a light grey background while Maya default color is dark grey.
Instances with negative scales exported from Maya were not opened in the right place in Studio (although they rendered correctly).
Maya was crashing when trying to open another file after saving one.
When Maxwell was set as default renderer, Render Settings panel showed empty.
Version support changes:

fixed: the meaning of the "embed in MXS" flag on the referenced material was reversed
This build is incompatible with Maxwell 2.6.0, and the previous builds are incompatible with the newly released Maxwell 2.6.10. Due to some changes in the extensions (hair, particles etc.) mixing incompatible plug-in and Maxwell versions will cause Maya to crash on startup. Please make sure you upgrade both the plug-in and Maxwell to the latest version.
