RealFlow offers two different Hybrido mesh types:

• Hybrido Mesh (OpenVDB). Very fast, multi-threaded, based on distance fields, provides volume and edge filters.
• Hybrido Mesh. Fast, multi-threaded, provides edge filters.

Both mesh types accept one Hybrido domain ("HY_Domain"). Other particle sources (Dyverso, standard particles, Hybrido secondary fluids) can be attached, but they will be ignored.

Basic Workflow

The basic mode of operation is the same for the two mesh types:

• Add a mesh type from the "Mesh" shelf.
• Right-click on the mesh container under "Nodes":
  "Insert Hybrido domain" lets you choose one domain.
• Click on Mesh shelf > Build Mesh to create the mesh.

By default you see the mesh's grid structure when the mesh container is selected. To get a better, clean view of the mesh, disable: View > Show > Selection Highlighting.

In most cases, the first mesh will not satisfy your needs and you have to refine the settings:

Mesh Parameters

These are the most important settings:

• With "Weight normalization" you get a better representation of the fluid.
• Smaller "Polygon size" values create more details and polygons.
• The mesh is built from spheres around the particles. The size of these spheres is controlled with the "Particle radius" parameter.
• Boundary settings are used to clip the mesh's boundary polygons, and create the impression of endless oceans.
• When the Hybrido domain's → "Ocean Statistical Spectrum" was active during simulation, you have the possibility of adding a wave structure to the mesh. Click → here for a workflow description.
• Filters let you refine the mesh's core fluid and splash-like structures, as well as the mesh's borders.

When "Polygon size" and "Particle radius" are equal, meshing is very fast.

Interactive Meshing

Interactive meshing updates the mesh without clicking "Build Mesh" every time a parameter has been changed. This is a very convenient, and time-saving feature.
