RealFlow's daemons can be categorized.

The first group is used to remove particles during a simulation and only affects particles, but please note that some emitters are entirely controlled by RealFlow and the daemons have no effect on them.

The second group introduces forces, e.g. gravity or attraction forces. These daemons do not only act on fluids, but also on rigid and soft bodies.

The third group contains the remaining daemons:

  • “Texture gizmo” is used to map a texture on top of a fluid surface reading the UVW coordinates of each particle.
  • “Color plane” is capable of showing the local physical fields (velocity, pressure, density etc.) of a fluid on a rectangular plane.
  • “Filter” is a powerful tool for splitting particles and assigning them to different emitters.
  • “Scripted” daemons are completely customizable with the Python programming language.
  • “Sheeter” adds particles at simulation time to fill unwanted holes in the fluid.

Daemons and Scale

By setting the force scales you can change the strength and influence of all daemons simultaneously without having to adjust each node individually. Also when your scene contains very large or very small objects you can compensate forces by simply altering force scales:

  • Simulation Tools > Scale options

Daemon Plugins

In order to install a plugin, please go to RealFlow's application folder and look for the “plugins” directory. There you will find five node-specific folders. If your plugin is a daemon then it has to be put under “daemons”. Please make sure that your plugin works with your RealFlow version. Once you have installed the plugin correctly it appears in a list:

  • Daemons shelf > Plugins

RealFlow comes with two plugin daemons: "Morph" and "CrowdFlow". You can also find examples in RealFlow's SDK folder and there are also some vendors selling commercial plugins.
