RealFlow uses a wide variety of default paths and folders. They are used to store preview files, access the online help documents, save simulation data, or trigger a terminal application when you work with the Command Line version. A good field of application with user-defined variables is to store random string data, e.g. paths to folders. This data can be queried with Python scripts or graphs using the “SetSceneVariable” and “GetSceneVariable“ functions and graph nodes. With this editor you have access to all of these settings and environment variables. To open it, please go to:

Tools > Macro Scene Variables Editor

Key Column

The window is split into two parts. On the left there is the “Key” column and contains the variables' names. Thenames of the initial scene variables cannot be changed, because they are used internally by RealFlow or your operating system. User-defined variables can be edited, of course. The right part holds the values. When you take a look at it you will see that some entries are dimmed. These greyed-out values cannot be changed or deleted.
