When you use the Maxwell Render engine, instead of the OpenGL renderer, for your previews you also have the opportunity of saving a Maxwell scene file and opening it in Maxwell Studio or any other application which is capable of reading MXS files. There you can make further adjustments and combine your scene with other elements.
